Fishing Greenwater Pond In Becket, Massachusetts

Greenwater Pond in Becket, Massachusetts is an 88 acre trout pond that is located in between the Massachusetts Turnpike and Route 20. Greenwater Pond is approximately 58 feet deep at its deepest point and has an average depth of about 23 feet. I had always been under the impression that Greenwater Pond was quite shallow, but upon visiting there this past week came to realize that Greenwater Pond only appears to be shallow because the water is incredibly clear.

Ashuwillticook Rail Trail In The Berkshires

The Ashuwillticook Rail Trail, known simply as “the rail trail” to Berkshire County residents, is a 10 foot wide, 11 mile long, paved multiuse recreational trail that was built on a former rail corridor. The Ashuwillticook Rail Trail begins in Adams, MA and runs South parallel to Route 8 through Cheshire, MA terminating at the Berkshire Mall entrance in Lanesboro, MA.

Fishing The Farmington River In Otis Massachusetts

The West Branch of the Farmington River begins in Becket Massachusetts and flows southeasterly through the center of Otis along Route 8. The West Branch of the Farmington River joins the East Branch of the Farmington River in New Hartford, Connecticut and ultimately flows into the Connecticut River in Windsor, Connecticut.

Fishing Shaw Pond In Becket Massachusetts

Shaw Pond is located in the Berkshires on the Becket / Otis border just off of Route 8. The 100 acre warm water pond has a maximum depth of approximately 19 feet and can be fished from the shore and by boat. Ice fishing on Shaw Pond is very popular in the winter months as well.
